Aberdeen ABERDEEN. Norwegian road movie from London to Scotland, about a father who drinks as a Danish. Price for the best man actor’s performance at the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary. A Norwegian film in English, with a Swedish actor in a leading role. International, to say the least. Aberdeen is a touching, funny and sad film about relationships. Mainly the relationship between parents and children. Stellan Skarsgard, one of the greatest actors in the world, is as brilliant as ever. He plays drunk most of the time, but he does it in a subtle way. When his character is humiliated because he needs a beer you can feel it through the screen. Skarsgard is a wonderful actor. Ian Hart is also a great actor and it’s always wonderful watching him in a film. Lena Headey impresses spectators with a nuanced and touching performance. Directed by Hans Petter Moland, screenplay by Hans Petter Moland and Kristin Amundsen, camera by Philip Øgaard, music by Zbigniew Preisner, cast: Stellan Skarsgård (Tomas), Lena Headey (Kaisa), Ian Hart (Clive), Charlotte Rampling (Helen), Jason Hetherington (Perkins).
